Aqua Rite Turbo Cell
 |
The Turbo Cell is used with the Aqua Rite®
electronic chlorinator, Aqua Trol® above-ground pool automation
control, or the the Aqua Logic® in-ground pool/spa automation control
to generate fresh, pure chlorine to meet the pools sanitization needs.
The Turbo Cell can be installed vertically or horizontally in the pipe return
pipe to the pool. Whenever the filter pump is operating, the Turbo
Cell will be converting a low concentration of salt in the pool water into
chlorine which is then evenly dispersed throughout the pool via the return jets.
It couldn't be easier, more effective or trouble free.
- Union connections (2") for easy installation.
Use standard plumbing adaptors for 1½ " pipe; 50 mm unions also available. Model
T-CELL-15 has fittings for both hose and return jet connections.
- Cord with plug at the control end ensures that all
electrical connections are protected from getting wet.
- Standard cable length is 15 ft. (4.5m); cells with 25
ft. (7.6m) cables are also available.
- Large diameter minimizes flow restrictions. Can
be used on high flow systems required for in-floor cleaning or water features
without the need for a bypass. See chart for flow vs pressure drop curve
(as tested by NSF).
- The Turbo Cell's offset design creates a turbulent
flow pattern that maximizes the self cleaning performance.
- Available in 2 models:
- T-CELL-15
for Aqua Rite® and Aqua Logic®
generates up 1.45 lb. (.66 Kg) of chlorine
-
T-CELL-5 for Aqua Trol®
generates up to .87 lb. (.40 Kg) of chlorine.

Cell cleaning frequency is dependent on several factors. pH and calcium levels
in the water are the two that have the greatest effect on how often the cell
requires cleaning.
Maintaining
pH at the levels recommended in the Operating Instructions (7.2 - 7.8) should
result in cell cleaning 3-4 times a year in areas with hard water. Cells can be
cleaning less frequently in soft water areas.
The cell will require maintenance when the "Inspect Cell" light is either
flashing or is on solid and the salt level is confirmed to be above 2500 part
per million.
- Turn Filter pump off.
- Remove the AquaRite Turbo Cell from its position in
the plumbing by loosening the unions on both ends of the cell.
- You will need a small plastic bucket (6 - 8" opening),
water and muriatic acid. (Picture A)
- Fill the bucket with 3 - 4" of water. (Picture B)
- Set the Turbo Cell, on end, in the bucket of water.
(Picture C)
- Add 1 - 1 1/2" of muriatic to the water in the bucket.
Let the cell sit in this solution for 5-10 minutes. (Picture D)
- Turn the cell over and let the other end sit in the
solution for 5 - 10 minutes. You will be submersing the
cord, which will not be affected by the mild acid solution. (Picture E)
Look in both ends of the cell to confirm calcium deposits are removed. If not,
repeat cleaning procedure.
- Rinse cell with fresh water and replace in plumbing
line. Hand tighten unions before restoring power to filter pump.
